WILL I RECEIVE CONSULTATION NOTES?

Unfortunately, no. Most the vets in Tijuana, including PetMed Veterinary Hospital, do not provide consultation notes. So if your pet got a surgery at PetMed there will not be any document describing the surgery or the details of the surgery, etc.

Here’s what you can expect to receive:
- Xray images
- Lab results
- Prescription information
- After care instructions


WHEN SHOULD I EXPECT TO RECEIVE MY LAB RESULTS?

Please note that consultation or lab results might be in Spanish. If you need help translating the documents, Google Translate and Chat GPT are great tools. You can also reach out to the vet for translation assistance.

Blood work - same day, paper results sent home with your pet

Xrays - same day, digital results sent home with your pet on a thumbdrive

Urinalysis - 2 days (digital copy in email)

Pathology - 2-3 weeks (digital copy in email)

Cytology - 1 week (digital copy in email)

Fungal, bacterial, urine culture - 1 week (digital copy in email)

T4 thyroid test - 3 days (digital copy in email)

HOW CAN I GET IN TOUCH WITH petmed veterinary hospital?

If a PetMed team member said you’d get an update, and you still have not received a call or email, we encourage you to reach out to them directly. If you called and/or emailed and can’t get through, let a MexiVet team member know ASAP so we can help you during their business hours.

Where do i register my pet’s microchip?

There a multiple sites you can register your pet’s microchip. The leading ones seem to be Home Again and AKC Reunite. Feel free to reach out to a MexiVet team member if you’re having any trouble getting the microchip registered, we can help!

DO I NEED A FOLLOW UP APPOINTMENT?

If you had an appointment and your pet is not getting better or the treatment does not seem to be working, please reach out to the clinic directly through either WhatsApp or email. Send them a summary of how the treatment is going and if relevant, send pictures too. They might be able to adjust the treatment and send a medication delivery with a MexiVet driver. Ask about that!
