SonoVet offers advanced veterinary imaging including ultrasounds, echocardiograms, and x-rays. They also offer complete heart health packages including electrocardiograms and blood pressure tests. You can order the imaging a la carte with no consultation meaning you will take the imaging back to your local vet for interpretation, diagnosis, and treatment or you can add a consultation to receive the interpretation, diagnosis, and treatment with your vet at SonoVet. SonoVet is a full veterinary clinic also offering general services such as dental cleanings, surgeries, and hospitalization.

WILL I RECEIVE CONSULTATION NOTES?

Unfortunately, no, but they might be available if you ask. Most the vets in Tijuana, including SonoVet, do not provide consultation notes. However, a few vets, including SonoVet, can make this available as needed. If you need this for your pet insurance or another veterinary provider, reach out to SonoVet ASAP and make the request directly to them.

WHEN SHOULD I EXPECT TO RECEIVE MY LAB RESULTS?

Please note that consultation or lab results might be in Spanish. If you need help translating the documents, Google Translate and Chat GPT are great tools. You can also reach out to the vet for translation assistance.

Vet services and result wait times (all results digital in email - please check your spam folder too):

Blood work - 1-2 days

Urinalysis - 3 days

Ultrasound - 4 days

Echocardiogram - 4 days

Xrays - 1-7 days

Pathology - 2-3 weeks

Cytology - 1 week

Fungal, bacterial, urine culture - 1 week

T4 thyroid test - 3 days

Cushings test - 1 week

*IMPORTANT NOTE: If you received multiple services, the vet will usually send them all at once when the last one is available (excluding pathology). So, if you received multiple services, you should expect all your results in the time frame of the one that takes the longest (excluding pathology).

Where do i register my pet’s microchip?

There a multiple sites you can register your pet’s microchip. The leading ones seem to be Home Again and AKC Reunite. Feel free to reach out to a MexiVet team member if you’re having any trouble getting the microchip registered, we can help!

DO I NEED A FOLLOW UP APPOINTMENT?

If you had an appointment and your pet is not getting better or the treatment does not seem to be working, please reach out to the clinic directly through either WhatsApp, email, or phone call. Send them a summary of how the treatment is going and if relevant, send pictures too. They might be able to adjust the treatment and send a medication delivery with a MexiVet driver. Ask about that!
